Actress, singer Lindsay Dee Lohan born on July 2, 1986, in New York City. Lohan's father, Michael Lohan, ran his family's pasta business and worked as an investment banker. Her mother, Donata "Dina" Sullivan, was a Wall Street analyst. Lohan grew up in the wealthy Long Island suburbs of Cold Spring Harbor and Merrick.

She is the eldest child of Donata "Dina" (née Sullivan) and Michael Lohan. Lindsay has three younger siblings, all of whom have been models or actors: Michael Jr. (who appeared with Lindsay in The Parent Trap), Aliana ("Ali"), and Dakota ("Cody"), the youngest Lohan child. Lohan is of Irish and Italian heritage and was raised as a Catholic. Her maternal family were "well known Irish Catholic stalwarts" and her great-grandfather, John L. Sullivan, was a co-founder of the Pro-life Party in Long Island. Lohan attended Cold Spring Harbor High School, where she did well in science and mathematics until grade 11 when she started homeschooling.

Lohan's parents have a turbulent history. They married in 1985, separated when she was three, and later reunited. They separated again in 2005 and finalized their divorce in 2007. Career:

Stints as a child model and commercial actress brought Lohan into the spotlight at the age of three. The star of more than 60 television spots and 100 print ads for clients like Toys 'R Us and Duncan Hines helped Lohan land the film role of twin sisters in Disney's 1998 remake of The Parent Trap. In the film, the sisters—one raised in England and the other in the U.S.—try to reunite their long-divorced parents, played by Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson. The movie performed well at the box office, making more than $92 million globally.

Lohan's success resulted in more Disney film roles, including the remake Freaky Friday (2003) also starring Jamie Lee Curtis. Her next role with Disney, the pre-teen comedy, Confessions of Teenage Drama Queen (2004), brought mild success. But it was her starring role in Paramount's film Mean Girls, written by comedian Tina Fey, that turned Lohan into a bona fide star. The movie recieved both popular and critical success; it became the 24th highest grossing movie of 2004 and earned Lohan a Teen's Choice Award and an MTV movie award for her performance.

Lohan returned to Disney in 2005 to star in Herbie: Fully Loaded, the fifth film in the Herbie the racecar series. The film earned $144 million worldwide and marked the actress' transition into more grown-up roles. in the meantime, Lohan also launched a music career. Thanks to her growing fan base, her first album, Speak, debuted in 2004 and hit platinum status. Her next album, A Little More Personal, hit stores in 2005 but didn't fare as well. The 29-year old great-granddaughter of Hilton hotels founder Conrad Hilton and her friend Jennifer Rovero were taken into custody after the Brazil-Netherlands World Cup quarter-final game in the South African coastal city.


Rovero, who describes herself as a former Playboy playmate, model and actress on her website, was sentenced to a fine of 1,000 rand ($130) or 30 days in jail for smoking a marijuana joint. Her lawyer told the court she was in South Africa to cover the World Cup as a freelance photographer.


"They were together, but we didn't have a case against Hilton. The joint was in Rovero's possession, not Hilton's," the prosecutor told Reuters.


Hilton arrived at the special court hearing in the South African city of Port Elizabeth looking tense and wearing a beige sleeveless cardigan, boots and green trousers.

Her publicist issued a statement calling the arrest a misunderstanding.

"Paris Hilton was questioned today by police in South Africa on allegations of smoking marijuana," the statement read.


"However I can confirm that the incident was a complete misunderstanding and it was actually another person in the group who did it. The case has been dropped against Paris and no charges will be made."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Sandra Bullock and Jesse James are finally divorced.


A court clerk in Austin, Texas, confirmed that the divorce between the Oscar-winning actress and celebrity biker was finalized Monday. Bullock filed to end the marriage in April after reports surfaced that James had been unfaithful.
Details of the settlement were sealed by the court, but Bullock’s initial filing cited “discord or conflict of personalities” as grounds for the divorce.
An attorney for Bullock did not immediately return calls to The Associated Press on Tuesday, but her publicist, Cheryl Maisel, confirmed the couple’s split was complete.
James’ publicist, Monique Huey-Jones, declined to comment Tuesday.


The actress and “Monster Garage” star met in 2003 and married in 2005. It seemed like an odd pairing — the movie star often called “America’s Sweetheart” marrying the tattooed biker who had been wed twice before.


It was the first marriage for Bullock, who became a devoted stepmom to James’ children: Sunny, 6; Jesse Jr., 12; and Chandler, 15.
The couple stayed out of the public eye as they continued their individual successes. She racked up film and production credits, while he expanded his reality-TV presence, starring in his own series, “Jesse James is a Dead Man,” and appearing on “The Celebrity Apprentice.”

Their problems surfaced in March, just days after Bullock won the best-actress Oscar for her role in “The Blind Side.” She had been on a career high — her romantic comedy, “The Proposal,” was a box-office smash, then she swept Hollywood’s awards season for her “Blind Side” performance.

The latest "Twilight" movie already has one record under its belt as it opens with the widest domestic release in boxoffice history.

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" was booked in a record 4,416 theaters for its debut Wednesday. That beats the previous record of 4,380 theaters set less than two months ago by "Iron Man 2"-according to The Hollywood Reporter.


Along with midnight screenings, some theaters are scheduling showings at 3 a.m. to meet demand as fans line up for the movie.


The second installment in the vampire-romance franchise, last November's "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," leads the boxoffice charts for best opening day with $72.7 million. The movie's opening weekend of $142.8 million is No. 3 on the all-time chart.'Eclipse' already breaks release record 'Twilight' film to open with widest domestic release in history.

The "Avatar" star, 32, "is thrilled" about her upcoming nuptials, a source told US Magazine.
Saldana and Britton have been together for 10 years.

Keith Britton is CEO of My Fashion Database and an actor in Los Angeles who's appeared in Cold Case and As The World Turns.


Saldana's had a banner year, with the remarkable success of James Cameron's latest epic, a brand ambassadorship with Avon and recently taking home Women in Film's Face of the Future award.
